Definition of the family Ologamasidae

With three-tined palp tarsal claw; podonotal and opisthonotal shields fused or separated; generally without scleronoduli (present in about 20% of the Gamasellus and 20% of the Rhodacaroides species known to date); with seta st4 on sternal shield; genital shield with a pair of setae and separate from ventrianal shield; with ventrianal shield, bearing 1-9 pairs of preanal setae; without desclerotised punctate bands on dorsal and ventral shields; tibia I with 6 dorsal setae; genu IV with 8-10 setae; and tibia IV with 9-10 setae.

The taxonomic concept used in this work is based on Castilho et al. (2016), which provides detailed information on the nomenclature reported for each genus and species. This database is updated periodically, as new information becomes available in the literature. A major effort was made to include precise information about all known Ologamasidae species, but mistakes and omissions may have occurred. We would be grateful to users for letting us know of those mistakes or omissions, so that the information can be corrected or complemented.
