(a): The record
of A.obtusus
from
South Australia, Australia (Womersley, 1954) was considered a
misidentification by Chant (1957c). Those specimens were considered
as probably Amblyseiussellnicki
Karg by Athias-Henriot (1966). Wainstein (1977) checked the
specimens reported by Womersley and identified them as four different
species: Amblyseius
[sic]
messor
Wainstein,
Amblyseius
[sic]
australograminis
Wainstein,
Amblyseius
graminis
Chant and Typhloctonus
[sic]
cottieri
(Collyer). Schicha (1983) agreed with Wainstein on the
reidentification of A.
[sic] messor.

(b): Specimens
from Italy (Berlese, 1889, 1914, Chant, 1957c) reidentified as A.
sellnicki
— Karg
(1960). Because the mites reported by Chant (1957c, 1959b) are
considered conspecific with those from Italy, they should probably be
A.
sellnicki
rather
than A.obtusus
— see
Athias-Henriot (1966).
;
-
(c): Specimens
reported by Athias-Henriot (1957a, 1959) reidentified as
Proprioseiopsis
messor
(Wainstein) — Athias-Henriot (1961). Specimens reported by
Athias-Henriot (1958b) were considered Typhlodromus
mexicanus (Garman)
[sic] by Chant (1959b), and reidentified as P.
messor
by
Athias-Henriot (1961).
;
-
(d): Specimens
reported by Schweizer (1922, 1949) reidentified as A.
meridionalis
— Schweizer
(1961).
;
-
(e): Specimens
reported by Westerboer & Bernhard (1963) reidentified as A.
sellnicki
— Karg
(1971b).
;
- (f): Nomen nudum — Oudemans (1936) (but see Yoshida-Shaul & Chant, 1995a).;
