Species of Trichogramma from South America

Wasps of the genus Trichogramma Westwood are tiny parasitoids of insect eggs. The genus, with almost 240 species, is divided into three subgenera, only two of which are represented in South America: Vanlisus Pinto (2 species) and Trichogramma sensu stricto (42 species). Species of Trichogramma occur throughout South America, although there are no known published records from French Guyana and Suriname so far. In South America, Brazil has the largest number of known species. In this database are included species of Trichogramma from South America. Trichogramma species, their hosts and distribution (countries) are available in the database.
