Chemical Ecology and Insect Behavior. The key lines of research include: (i) tritrophic interactions related to plants, insects (herbivores) and their natural enemies; (ii) environmental factors that influence the production and chemical response of plants and insects; (iii) influence of microorganisms on the chemistry of plants and insects and their implications on the trophic relationships of these organisms; and (iv) individual production of chemical compounds by insects (pheromones) and plants (allelochemicals) and their possible ecological or applied implications (pest management).
